Author Submission Guidelines

Note: Before you submit anything, please keep in mind that we only consider completed manuscripts.  The manuscript and submitted materials must also be clean (meaning free of grammatical and typographical errors), we will return all submissions if they do not meet these basic requirements.  If you’ve had your manuscript professionally pre-edited; be sure to provide the editor’s name, credentials and contact information in your query letter.  We are very serious about a professional submission, if you feel we are harsh to demand this, then it's likely you're not suited to work with us.

Initial Submission:

  • Send us a query letter that includes the following:
    • your full name,
    • pen name,
    • contact information,
    • word-count of your manuscript,
    • genre,
    • target audience,
    • a brief description of your work.
    • Please include a little paragraph about you.
  • The first three chapters (or first 50 pages) of your manuscript.
  • A chapter-by-chapter summary of the story, including the ending.
  • Stamped, Self-Addressed envelope for our primary response, and if you’d like your manuscript pages back, a self-addressed, stamped bulk-envelope for that as well.
  • Please submit these on plain white paper in Garamond or Times Roman font. No further bells or whistles are required.  Envelopes with things like glitter, pop-up cutouts of clown faces, or unicorn stickers will be hucked straight into the slushpile. We are tongue-in-cheek sort of people, but we still need professional submissions, sorry.
  • The primary submission must be received by postal mail. Email submissions will be rejected.

UNSOLICITED MANUSCRIPTS WILL BE FED TO OUR SHREDDER.

Allow 4-6 weeks for a response.

 Secondary Submission:

If we respond with interest, we will request a full copy of your manuscript.  Please be sure it is printed on plain white paper, with 12 point font (Times Roman or Garamond), and single-spaced..  No binding, or embellishments are necessary. We may even request it be submitted electronically.  Be sure your manuscript is in .rtf format.  If your manuscript is typed or hand-written, you may wish to have someone turn it into an MSWord document

Please understand that a request for a full manuscript is not a guarantee that you will be chosen for publication.  Be sure to provide a stamped/metered bulk mailer if you want your manuscript back.  All electronic versions will be deleted from our computer if rejected.

We will publish a call for submissions for the first edition when it is time.  Submission requirements will be provided at that time.  Works for this publication will be purchased from the artists.  There will be no royalties for this book.  Unsolicited submissions will be rejected.
